Fender Mini Deluxe Amp
When I can’t haul my 45 lbs. Hot Rod Deluxe around with me, I bring along my one-pound Mini Deluxe, affectionately known as my ‘Barbie Amp.’
Operated by a 9V battery or 9V 200ma power supply, this little guy has big balls! Surprisingly loud volume and heavy distortion (obnoxiously heavy when cranked, if that’s what you’re into) are controlled by Volume and Drive knobs, plus a single Tone control (which goes to 12, just like big brother Hot Rod.)
This 1-watt Mini-Me of the HRD has a 2″ speaker for jamming in the park, while the 1/4″ headphone jack make this a great preamp for recording your Stratosounds.
Attention to detail here is stunning: the shape and arrangement of chicken-head knobs mirror the HRD, as do the ‘Deluxe’ face plate and carrying handle. If you want me to be a nit-picking bastard, the HRD mesh is a vertical-horizontal criss-cross, while the Mini Deluxe has a diagonal pattern… but c’mon.
Of course, it’s no rival for a real Hot Rod Deluxe… but it’s the next best thing when you’re on the go.

I agree, it’s an indespensible accessory. I’ve got several. I also like to have someone whip it around in circles by the cord while I play… makes great leslie sounds! Be sure to route the cord under the handle to avoid launching.
